Life's a Beach...but no man is an Island!
Zambales is blessed with natural beauty. It has been impacted by modernization. but it still kept its rural splendor and it's natural beauty still remained. The sandy beaches and deep blue sea filled with coral reefs are the most well-known features of the Zambales coastline.
A lot of people often visit this place during the holidays and there is no wonder why! Let’s jump into this blog and check out all the cool places people love to visit in Zambales.
Let’s start this off with what a lot of people say is the best place in Zambales, Anawangin Cove. This beautiful island, which is located in the town of San Antonio in Zambales, is a crescent-shaped cove with a white-sand beach. The unique mystery of towering pine trees flourishing around the area is what defines the area. But what makes this place interesting is how the place came to be. Because the beautiful cove was born from destruction. When Mt. Pinatubo erupted in 1991 when it poured tons of ash on the shores of San Antonio. What was once a rocky coastline was transformed into a slice of paradise and a sanctuary for beach lovers.
The second spot on the list is Camara Island. This is the place to visit if you enjoy ocean sports like snorkeling and swimming. It has steep slopes, massive rock formations, rock boulders, and a beautiful sandy beach. It also has a sandbar, which appears only at low tide or after the rainy season
And just 15 minutes from Camara Island is Capones Island. These two islands are perfect for island activities but since we already talked about Camara Island, let’s put our focus on the latter. Capones Island, also known as Isla de Gran Capon, is a beautiful example of the Philippines' natural and historical wonders. Capones Island is known for its white sandy beaches, intricate corals, as well as a magnificent Spanish colonial lighthouse sitting on a hill. This lighthouse is perhaps the most interesting thing about this island as this lighthouse is greatly connected to out history. The Faro de Punta Capones, or Capones Island Lighthouse was a structure built on August 1, 1890 to accurately guide ships to and from Subic Bay and Manila.
Keeping it up with the island theme, we’re taking a look at Potipot Island. What makes this island special is that it’s so small you can explore the whole area in just 30 minutes! This small, remote island is popular for its pure, white sand and crystal-clear waters.
Now we know that Boracay is a very popular beach in the Philippines so you’re probably wondering if there is any place in Zambales that comes close? The answer is, yes! Magalawa Island has been dubbed as the next Boracay because, similar to the country's popular beach, Magalawa Island features fine white sand, crystal clear blue waters, and a variety of entertaining activities.
Another great place Zambales has to offer is Subic Bay. Can you believe that from three houses away from Manila you can end up on this awesome beach? Subic Bay provides a diverse selection of accommodations, from budget-friendly to high-end resorts, to satisfy all types of guests. There are even inflatable islands and theme parks! We know Subic Bay as one of the country’s great beaches but before it was a tourist spot, this place actually played a part in our history. The shores of Subic Bay once housed a large US Navy installation, the USS Subic Bay. The Subic Bay Freeport Zone, which is administered by the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, is currently an industrial and commercial region known as the Naval Base Subic Bay.
Now with all my talk of all the islands and beaches of Zambales, you’re probably thinking that it’s all the province can offer. But that can’t be farther from the truth. Because there is a lot more this place has to offer than its beaches. For instance, Botolan Wildlife Farm is a family-owned and managed ranch that was founded in 2000. This 55,000-square-meter property is located in the heart of the city. The tourist attraction of Zambales is home to a variety of exotic animals and flora from all over the world.
There're so many wonderful places you can visit in Zambales that this list doesn’t even cover half of them! Truly Zambales is one of the best places in the country.
